Yaz Lawsuits

Beginning in 2009, Bayer has faced a wave of litigation of Yaz and Yasmin.  While many claims have been made with regard to various health problems, our firm is looking specifically at cases regarding Yaz and deep vein thrombosis/pulmonary embolism.  These cases allege that Bayer knew or should have known of the risks of DVT and PE, and failed to warn consumers against them.

Federal claims have been consolidated in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois.  State claims are proceeding in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

As of October 2012, Bayer has settled over 4,800 cases for over $1 billion.  These cases were settled without an admission of liability.  Cases will continue to be settled on a case-by-case basis following negotiations.
